Project Engineer

Stelic LLC in Hagerstown, MD seeks Project Engineer. Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project; analyze project progress and performance against baseline schedules; prepare cost estimates and forecasts for project budgets; manage cost control systems to monitor project expenditures and variances; create and maintain earned value management (EVM) reports to track project performance; coordinate with project managers and teams to resolve scheduling and cost issues; prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders; perform risk analysis and implement mitigation strategies; ensure compliance with organizational and client standards for project controls; utilize software tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI for data analysis and reporting; monitor procurement schedules and vendor performance; maintain documentation for change management and project controls processes. Must pass a background check and drug test upon hire. Must be willing to travel and relocate to unanticipated client locations in the U.S every 1-2 years based on project duration.

Travel:

Must be willing to travel and relocate to unanticipated client locations all over the U.S. 1-2 times per year, for 3-5 days at a time to meet with project team. 100% telecommuting from home allowed from anywhere in the United States when not at client site.

Job Requirements:

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have 2 years of experience with (i) Project controls, scheduling, or cost engineering, including developing schedules, tracking budgets, and performing cost analysis; (ii) Project Controls KPIs including with Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Baseline Adherence, Milestone Achievement, Variance Analysis, and Resource Utilization; (iii) Earned Value Management (EVM) KPIs including Estimate at Completion (EAC), To-Complete Performance Index (TCPI), Project Percent Complete, and Cost Overrun/Underrun; (iv) Using Excel KPIs including Conditional Formatting, Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts, Data Validation Rules, Sparklines for Quick Data Trends, Creating and Editing Macros (VBA), Automating Reports, Building Interactive Dashboards, and Advanced Filtering and Sorting; (v) Advanced Formulas such as INDEX-MATCH and ARRAYFORMULAS; (vi) using Logical Formulas such as “IF”, “AND”, “OR”, and “Nested IFS”; (vii) creating Dynamic Charts in excel using Waterfall, Gantt, or Combo Charts; (viii) auditing Formulas in Excel using Trace Precedents/Dependents; (ix) Error Checking using ISERROR, and IFERROR; (x) Debugging Macros and Formulas; (xi) Power Query for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load); (xii) using Text Functions in Excel such as CONCATENATE, LEFT, RIGHT, and MID; (xiii) linking Excel with External Data Sources such as Power BI; (xiv) preparing concise, actionable reports and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences; (xv) Articulating project findings, analyses, and recommendations to stakeholders; (xvi) identifying root causes of issues and proposing practical, data-driven solutions; (xvii) analyzing risks and challenges with a structured approach to mitigation; and (xviii) developing and refining communication frameworks to improve organizational processes. Must also possess experience with (i) Primavera P6 or MS Project; and (ii) Earned value management (EVM). Must also possess a valid drivers license. Salary: $145,000/year
